Book Covers

Most of you know that in addition to photography I also design book covers. It's something that I've done for the past year and I absolutely LOVE it. It allows me to be creative in a different way that only compliments my love of photography since my designs are photo based.

Don't worry that my design work will take away from my availability to my portrait clients because that will never be the case. My portrait clients are my main priority now, and always. Besides who needs to sleep?

Get out and go...

I'm so blessed to have the wonderful clients I have had the honor of photographing, and the blessings continue with each new face that gets in front of my camera. I'm known for my adorable studio sets and patience of steel, but every so often it's nice to get outside and take some great images.

This spring/summer my goal is to get out and shoot more outside. Is there a great wheat field by your house that you think will work great for your family portraits? Is there any place outside you wanna shoot? Run it by me and let's make something happen!! I love being outside shooting in nice weather, and I think you'll enjoy the experience too!!

It's A Baby Expo

This weekend I had the pleasure of being a vendor at the It's A Baby Expo in Edison, NJ. I've never done this type of show before so it was a learning experience. Overall I had an AWESOME time. I got to see what business owners offered as well as lament over all the stuff I wish I had when Justin was a newborn...lol. There was something there for every one's needs. I got to walk around really quick before the show started on Saturday morning and say "Hi' to the other vendors. There were so many great things to look at I wish I took a picture so I could show you.

I'd like to thank all the mommies and daddies who came out and visited my booth. It was a pleasure to meet each and every one of you. Please take the time and browse my blogsite and then head over to my facebook page and fan me to find out the new "magic word".

Here are a couple of pictures of my booth from day 1 and day 2. Next year I know what I'd like to improve upon but I'm still very proud of my company, my work, and my booth.

The Holiday Set Is All Done!!

I worked really hard to have my holiday set finished by this weekend. I'm actually a day ahead of schedule so "yay me"...lol. This year if you come into the studio we have FOUR different versions of our holiday set. We have the snowman set which is great if you don't want a holiday themed set. We have a solid white which is very classic and clean. We have the tree and lights set that's great for little kids who need something to interact with, and we have the full Christmas tree and presents set. It's never too early...

While most of you guys were having fun trick or treating I was in my studio putting together a quick holiday set. Here are a few test shots. This is just ONE of my holiday offerings, more sets to come soon. Weekend appointments are booking up fast, so book now to ensure you get a date.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Head Shots for Autism and Halloween Portrait Day fundraisers. So far we have raised about $250 to be donated to Autism Speaks in honor of  "AJ's Groovers". Since we've had such a great response I am going to extend the Head Shots for Autism special until the end of November.

Santa?

Hey Guys!!

In a  few days I'll be rolling out my Holiday package. The set is going to be super cute. I was toying with the idea of having a Santa come in for a special themed day. Since that would require plenty of planning I thought I would put feelers out to see if anyone was interested in that. Send me a note if you are interested in having a picture of Santa with your kids (without having to park 3 miles away from the mall just to wait on line!!). If I have enough people interested in it I'll make it happen.

New Happenings

I'm working on getting my holiday/winter set together, and the props are all starting to come in. I can't wait to show you guys some of the new stuff I have. It's NEVER too early to book your holiday session. Winter mini-sessions will be available from November 1st-30th. More info to follow shortly.

Are you guys interested in pictures with Santa so you don't have to stand on line at the malls with screaming kids? If so send me a note and I'll see what I can do if enough people are interested. As always, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks in honor of my oldest son AJ.

Pricing and Policy Changes!!

Hey Guys!!

I just wanted to give you a heads up that our pricing structures and policies will be changing for 2011. They are changing as to make things go smoother business wise as well as set the building blocks for hiring employees in the future.

The changes will be published in mid-December and will go into effect on January 1, 2011.

I had the honor of photographing one of these sessions on Friday. It was honestly one of the hardest things I have been asked to do since becoming a professional in 2005. As hard as it was I would do it again in a heartbeat. My photos will help that little angel's parents remember their baby and navigate the grieving process. My heart goes out to any and all families that need this service.

THE NEWBORN CASTING CALL!

Well it's that time of year again!!
New props are coming in, new ideas are being put together, and new babies are needed.

NEWBORNS 14days and younger
Twins 4wks and younger
Triplets 4wks and younger
(the younger the baby the better)

What is a casting call?
A casting call is a free session that's offered when I want to add a certain type of session to my portfolio or if I have new props & ideas that I want to try out. They are intended to get a certain image that I have in mind. The time spent in the session is mainly focused on getting what I want for my portfolio.

What is expected of the casting call client?
ALL CLIENTS MUST SIGN A MODEL RELEASE.
These images will be used in my online portfolio, studio samples, as well as other marketing materials. No release, no session.

What do the casting call clients get?
Asside from my undying grattitude...lol. Casting call clients will receive one free 8x10, and one 5x7 proof book with 10 of your favorite images. Any additional prints will be offered at 10% off the regular rates.

Catching up and stuff...lol.

My...my...my... I have totally forgotten how much work a newborn is...lol. My little boy is growing and thriving beyond my wildest dreams. And he is making sure his mommy is always busy :o). In the past two months I have been busy with Holiday sessions. The early bird special went fantastic. I want to thank all the families who gave me a call this November and December to schedule their sessions. I honestly had a blast with each and every family. Each session turned out beautifully!! I didn't shoot much in 2009 because of being pregnant most of the year and having Justin at the end of August. However; the families I did choose to shoot have made this year great.

There are big things planned for 2010 so jump aboard for tons of fun, specials, and amazing images. Since I haven't been on top of my blogging lately I'm going to share a few images from my last few sessions and then take a break (yes another break...lol) from shooting families (mine not included...lol) until January 4th.

and of course I had to add my two angels to this update. AJ is 7 and Justin is almost 4mos.
