I didn't do vintage sessions this year but I will definitely get it on the schedule for early next year. I forgot how awesomely fun they are to shoot. I did vintage with this family of 3yr old twins and their 7yr old brother last year and I can't believe how big they've gotten. Can't wait to see them again!!

Those of you who know me know I don't shoot many weddings, but those I do shoot I put my ALL into it. Christina and Brett had a beautiful beach wedding down at Belmar this weekend. The dresses were a BEAUTIFUL shade of hot pink, the guys wore nice summer light suits with hot pink flowers, the children were gorgeous, the parents were proud, and the weather was lovely.

Ladies Night!!

New business Willit Conceirge had an amazing maiden voyage when they hosted Ladies Night at the studio Saturday night. We started off with a 10min makeover by the amazing Emily G. Next the ladies enjoyed a 5 minute photoshoot with yours truely. Afterward the ladies got their groove on with a salsa lesson with the amazing Amy Garcia Phillips of Contento Dance. Oh did I mention all the amazing food and sangria they enjoyed along with good conversation? Amazing night, Amazing women, Amazing conversation, OUTSTANDING EVENING!! After all the fun in my studio the ladies went around the corner to enjoy drink specials at The Rail Yard.

Look who's 2 already!!

It was so nice seeing Miss Juliet again this afternoon. Her mom and dad brought her in for her 2yr portraits. I don't know who had more fun, her for dressing up in all the costumes or me for playing with her. She looks like a little doll!!

Well you guys know I don't ask a client to do anything I'm not willing to do myself, so here it is. My very own mini beauty shoot. I wasn't feeling very pretty and was coming down with a cold that would keep me in bed the next day but I did it anyway. Emily and her magical skills had me looking pretty even though I didn't feel it at first, but by the end of my mini-session I felt beautiful. I can talk for hours about how amazing this woman is. She is one of the reasons my women's beauty sessions are so popular and catching on like wildfire. Emily is going to appear in a magazine article and asked if I could give her some new edgy portraits. How could I resist? So with a collaborative effort we came up with the lighting, poses, and makeup. No Cheese Here...

Most of my clients know that I'm not a "say cheese" type of photographer. I love photographing children no matter what their mood is. Most of the time the mood is fun and playful, but then you get the times where they are cautious and sad. My little guy was NOT in the mood for pictures but I took them anyway. As a mom I love these pictures because it reflects his personality. As an artist, I just want to capture a feeling and bring out emotion in my images. I love these so much and they are easily counted among my favorites. So the moral of the story is don't stress if your child isn't in a good mood during a photo session, because I'm sure we can walk away with some sweet little gems you weren't expecting.

July rewind...

I hope you all are enjoying your summer so far. I've had a busy summer. There were a few vintage sessions, a newborn or two, a group photo, a couple of birthday boys, a pretty lady, and a wedding....whew!!

I'm looking forward to a break in August to celebrate my 11th wedding anniversary, AJ's (my oldest son) 10th birthday, and Justin's (my youngest son) 3rd birthday. I look back and I can't believe that this much time has passed. There are many things still to come but I just wanted to give you a quick summer rewind from a few sessions I didn't get a chance to blog. Thank you for looking and I can't wait for you to see what I have planned next!!
