Little Lillian

This morning after I got AJ on the bus for school, I packed my camera bag for a road trip. I drove to New York to meet with Little Lillian and her beautiful mom, Angela. Even though our time was limited we got some great shots. Lillian was so alert and wanted to know exactly what was going on...lol. She finally fell asleep 5 minutes before I left and of course I already broke down my setup, but we did manage to get one of the sweetest sleeping shots by the Christmas tree. Gracie Girl

I've had the pleasure to photograph Gracie and her family multiple times. I always know I'm in for an exciting and fun day with good people whenever Grace's mom calls for an appointment. The last time I shot with Gracie she cried through the entire shoot, but we still got great images. This time Gracie was all smiles. Here is one from yesterday's shoot.

Miss Journee

This morning I had a great time meeting with Miss Journee and her parents. I've shot with Journee a few times and I swear each time I meet a different child...lol. This morning she was very playful until her nap time snuck up on us. Then I had to break out my bag of tricks and found something to keep her attention...sort of...lol. Every mom of a toddler should travel with an ipod full of Sesame Street and Dora the Explorer clips.

Election Day

Cindy & John

I had a great time shooting Cindy & John's wedding today. It was quick, sweet, and to the point. Cindy was a bit camera shy, but she looked awesome in all of the shots.







This is the bride's brother. He was such a great guy. He was so kind to give EVERYONE a hug...lol.



And just when I asked myself what could possibly make their day sweeter? John picked up a microphone and serenaded his lovely bride with a rendition of Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley. Let me just say, that I've been to a ton of events where someone wanted to pick up a mic and sing...John did a FANTASTIC JOB!!!

Another Geek Moment...

OK, I've told you about my Harry Potter obsession before. Well, Since September 10th I've found a new obsession.... The Twilight Saga.

And to cater to the giddy pre-teen living inside my head...they made a movie!! My husband just shakes his head at me now...lol. I'm so excited that I could scream. If you haven't read the books I highly recommend them, they are really entertaining and an easy read. I have to warn you though, the books will leave you with a VERY unrealistic view of love and relationships...lol. I actually had someone tell me that after she read the books she didn't date for an entire year afterward...lol. How crazy is that?!?

Today I had the honor to second shoot a wedding at Chelsea Pier Sixty with Sarah of Sarah Postma Photography. I had an absolute blast. The pier was absolutely stunning, the lighting in there was a photographers dream and the bride & groom were so in love they just glowed.

Simple Act of Kindness

I want to share with you guys the act of kindness I experienced this afternoon. Today AJ was in rare form. He had so much energy that we needed to go the park to burn it off. While at the park there was a mom there with her three children playing. She proceeded to give her littlest baby a balloon. AJ saw this and took off in her direction. By the time I made it over to her she said he could have one too. So as she was blowing up the balloons we chatted. The time we were at the park this lovely woman gave AJ two balloons.

Most of you know my son has been diagnosed with autism. Even with the demands of her own children (one who is also special needs) she was so sweet and giving. I've gone to that same park a million times and had to deal with the weird looks and the awkward questions about my son's behavior. This woman was a breath of fresh air and a sign that there ARE still kind people in this cruel world.

I didn't get her name (silly me I know) but I did give her my card. I hope she calls me so I can show her how her generosity has effected us. I know it was only two balloons (that have since popped) but she really made my afternoon a bit brighter.

lesson - a simple act of kindness can make a world of difference in someone's life.

Angela & Frank

This afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting with Angela & Frank. Angela is due in November and she wanted to document her first pregnancy. Can I just let you know how jealous I was when I saw her...lol. When I was 7 months pregnant I felt and looked like a whale, but Angela simply glowed. She was the tiniest cutest thing possible. I can only hope my next pregnancy I look like her...lol.

I can't wait to meet them again in November and photograph their surprise package.

Today after a very busy day of running errands I met up with Kim for some senior photos. Kim and her mom met me at the historic waterfront in Perth Amboy. Baby Fiheem

Well I'm feeling all better now and officially strep free. Can you imagine me doing the happy dance?...lol.

Well since I'm feeling better I jumped back in the saddle so to speak. I met with LaQuan and Brianna to shoot their first portraits as a family. These two are just the cutest parents. I can't wait to document little Fiheem's milestones for them.

Geek Alert!!

OK, my husband likes to tease me about how much of a "geek" I can be sometimes. I know it's all in good fun and I embrace my "geekness"...lol. Tonight I was beside myself because I just saw the first trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. First let me say I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Harry Potter books, so I'm so excited to see the next movie. I just hope they do the books justice, because I hated the 5the movie. If you ever want to be bored to death, just ask me why I hated it...lol.

What to do, what to do?

Have you ever asked your self "What am I going to do with all of the pictures from my Personal Touch Portrait Session?" Well I'm here to help answer that for you. A great way to showcase your beautiful images and show them off is to have a storybook created. They come in a variety of sizes and the smaller ones fit in your bag perfectly. What better way to show off your family (and my amazing work...lol) than to whip out your book and show the world.

I just know Shannen's mom will LOVE this album. She is going to have a blast showing it and her beautiful daughter to EVERYONE...lol.

You know you had a great shoot when every muscle you move aches the next day...lol. Yesterday I shot Yariana's Sweet 16 party. I had a great time. This little lady was not afraid to ham it up in front of the camera...lol. She was absolutely stunning in her gown. Here are a few from her special day.

I almost forgot to mention that these dresses were designed and made by Albert at Pacheko Boutique (495 New Brunswick Ave, Fords, NJ 732-661-2002‎). See the flowing part of the dress at the bottom? Well that part actually "tears" away to create a very cute minidress. The ladies incorporated the "tear away" skirt in the courts dance. Very tasteful and very beautiful!
