When my design work meets my photography

It is an amazing feeling to be able to do what I love for a living. I love being a portrait photographer, and I love being able to bring those skills into my cover design work. I've been so lucky to work with some amazing publishers and authors. I get so excited when I'm able to actually photograph my own model to use on the covers. I foresee a lot more of that in my future this year :o) Here are two before & afters from a few weeks ago.

GRAND OPENING!!

I'm SO excited to finally have the studio open and ready for business!! I've been a professional photographer since the end of 2005 and having a studio space has always been the goal. I can't thank my wonderful clients, friends, and family enough for supporting me and believing in my dreams. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Mr. Bowe is ONE!!

Mr. Bowe and his mom, Fiona, came to my studio today for 1st Birthday portraits!!! Even though we aren't totally client ready we had a great time and Bowe did great. He was acting like a true king. He didn't want to feed himself the cake, he wanted his mom to feed it to him.....lol.

Three girls and a baby

Ok so Mr. Matteo isn't exactly a baby, but I the title made me giggle...lol. I first met these four cherubs about three years ago. Mom contacted me to take portraits for her newborn baby boy and I convinced her to get a family portrait done while I was there. WELL, little did I know she had two year old triplets waiting behind the front door...lol. I loved photographing them then and I loved it now. Today the girls are 5yrs old and FULL of spunk. Mr. Matteo has his hands full with his big sisters but he gives them a good run for their money. Alessandra, I owe you a bottle of wine for being super mommy of the decade...lol.

Vincent is a big boy now!!

OK so Mr. Vincent isn't just one, he's 14mos old. Either way we had a great time pretending he was turning one...lol. Vincent was SUCH a good boy during his 1yr portrait session. Even though it was late, and he was hungry, and he got a few shots from the doctor that day, he still delivered some amazing smiles.

Tommy is ONE!!

How many times have you heard me say how much I love watching "my" babies grow up? The last time I saw Tommy his mommy and I stuffed him into a gift box and took holiday portraits with his big brother. Now look at this handsome little guy. Even though he wasn't feeling all that great during his session we still had LOTS of fun together. I can't wait to see him and his family again.

The McGhee Family

About three or four years ago I got a call from a very nice lady who wanted to know about my portraits. She told me horror stories about her experiences with chain photography studios. She liked the fact that I promised never to rush a session, I guaranteed to get great images and even offered to reschedule when her daughter (2yrs old at the time) just didn't want anything to do with portraits. My mission was to give her awesome service and quality products to erase the experience of those chain stores.

Fast forward to early October. I get a call from the same wonderful lady who said that she and her husband are celebrating their anniversary and wanted a large wall portrait with their daughter to display at the party. She said she wouldn't trust anyone else with this very special photo but me and my heart just swelled.

Mission accomplished!!

Birthday Boy!!

I remember visiting this family when their little girl just turned one. I was thrilled to pieces when mom called to schedule a 1yr birthday session for their new addition. HOW CUTE ARE THEY!!!!
